Air conditioners and other HVAC equipment for military use must handle all types of environments so that they can go anywhere that troops need them. DMC designs for just such flexibility and variety.
When you protect troops inside armored guard buildings, they must stay cool — even on the hottest days during a sand storm! Designing for heat, dust and corrosion of steel and chemical plants assures that DMC’s air conditioners will work in the harshest natural environments.
DMC rates the cooling capacity of its air conditioners at 131°F (55°C), not the normal rating temperatures of 95°F (35°C). Its patented design enables it to cool down to either 32°F (0°C) or -40°C/F as you specify — in either case, without any special controls or adjustment by the user. It also enables them work at full capacity at altitudes well over 10,000 feet (3000 meters) above sea level.
As an option, DMC can provide electrical-resistance heating as well — and without changing the standard dimensions of the units. This feature enables the air conditioners to cool sun-heated buildings such as guard booths even when at low-ambient temperatures.
DMC makes a special effort to design its products with as few proprietary parts as possible so that the user can obtain replacements — or adequate substitutes — locally. Therefore, we eliminate electronic parts not just to minimize vulnerability to electrical problems, but also to assure that you can easily and quickly repair the units.
To help keep equipment running under battlefield and other emergency conditions, our design enables you to make temporary repairs in the field without spare parts.
Using only mechanical controls also helps eliminate the need for specially-trained technicians to service our equipment.
Because DMC makes its air conditioners for extreme applications, we use over-sized and heavy-duty components that last longer than those of ordinary commercial and residential air conditioners.
Since DMC designs its units specifically for durability and operations under extreme conditions, they retain their energy efficiency under such conditions. DMC air conditioners are the “greenest” under harsh conditions.
Even when DMC adapts its units for flammable and explosive environments, they retain all their other harsh-duty advantages and durability. Therefore, they afford a far better return on investment than do residential or commercial units modified for hazardous locations. In addition, DMC makes a special priority the development and production of robust Division/Zone 1 air conditioners, with and without heat.
